These tins I created using the Cricut Storybook cartridge (tags) and Plantin Schoolbook (tree line).

Christmas Tins
I did this in the Saturday Feel Good Scrap Day. These decorated tins are so versatile:
- you can hang them on your christmas tree,
- put them under your christmas tree as decorations,
- give them as gifts,
- use them as gift containers/ wrapping
- use them as table place settings and add some after-dinner mints for guests.
Can you think of some more uses? Let me know. Thanks for looking!

Soul Sisters
I have just received an e-mail notification saying that I (together with a lot of other ladies) have won a gift from Souls Sisters (http://www.soulsisters.co.za/eng/aboutus.html)! I am speechless (OK, mabe not speechless, but totally in shock). I can't say I never win anything, but it is really on the rare occasions in my life where I have won something, and now this delicious early Christmas gift from Soul Sisters:
Soul Sisters Craft Club bag, Lily K scrapbook product, 20% Get Scrapping! discount voucher and a copy of Paint on Paper/ Verf op Papier
If I was living in the "Boland" of South Africa I would have been a lifelong member. The best I can do is tell everyone about the wonderful craft sisterhood Soul Sisters create and entice my mom (whose living in Cape Town) to join you.
Thank you Monean!

Feel Good Scrap day
This fabulous LO was presented at a full day scrap event in town on Saturday hosted by Bendito's Crafts.
I did not take any photos with me on the day as I had no clue as to the look or colour scheme of the LO. The pre-class notes mentioned that sepia or B&W photos would work best. After searching my photo archives, I came upon these colour pics taken in 2005 (and never been scrapped before). A perfect match for the papers (I think). The kit included a bonus LO, but I want to see if I can't stretch it to make another double LO with some more pics from this 3 week trip.

Let's scrap challenge 11-24-10
This is my take on the Let's Scrap challenge 11-24-10:
We had a 1920's Aviator party for my DH on this 40th as he's crazy about flying. The papers are from Kaisercraft's After five collection. I used pewer embossing powder for the title (40th birthday) and was very impressed by the result - it looks like real pewter!

Ohhhh Missed the deadline - again!
Missed Fantabulous cricut's deadline again! Well, that's living "la vida loco" (the crazy life). Let me go and see what the challenge is for this week. Maybe if I start early (today) I can enter this week.
Time's running out for the Lets's scrap challenge too. What's happening?

Cards
I created this card based on last week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge at http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/ using Cricut Animal Kingdom Cartridge. I glazed the bird's eye and beak for a more realistic look. Got my new blog up too late to enter, but watch me this week!
This card I created in 10 minutes for a friends (belated) birthday also using Cricut Animal Kingdom cartridge. She's a cat person so I think she'll like this one... The cat is mounted on foam tape to give it a 3D look.Sunday, November 7, 2010
Hi there!
Now this is a HUGE step forward for me! It all came about when I purchased my Personal Cricut machine recently. I wanted to buy some cartridges right away - until I heard what they cost. Then I discovered e-Bay! And my cartridge collection tripled within a week. Then I discovered all the fantastic cricut challenge sites. Guess what? They all need a blog site to link your work to. And here I am! Learning as I go...
